The Alderman Farm was acquired by the Alderman family through a land grant by King George II. From the mid-1700s onward, it remained an active and agriculturally diverse enterprise and home to the Aldermans. In the 1970s, Mark bought the land and buildings from Helen Alderman, the last living member of the family, and has cared for and protected the land from development by partnering with The Nature Conservancy. It is now Mark’s primary home.

For the past three years, The Farm became home to Equiculture at Alderman Farm, a sanctuary for retired, disabled, and homeless working horses.
